[1] Some gedcoms at Ancestry.com identify the groom in this marriage as John Frederick’s uncle, Frederick Wentz, who was born in 1719 in Partenheim and who immigrated to America in 1749 on the Speedwell. Frederick and his wife had six children, different from John Frederick’s children. These researchers claim Margaret Miller as this Frederick’s wife too.

  1. In Roy Wampler’s book on his Derr family, he discusses a Catharine Wentz who married a Jacob Derr. Catharine Wentz is the daughter of George Wentz and his wife Catharine. George died in Frederick Co. MD in 1791 and owned an 8-acre piece of land in Fredericktown. Can you identify the Jacob Derr discussed in George’s estate settlement papers?? Please reply to me privately on my email address . Thank you

    • I know no more about Barbara (Wentz) Derr and her husband than what i included in my blog statement. I don’t have her as Catherine.
      Sorry,
      Kathy
