Good morning,

I just read your account of Oliver Perry Light. I am a direct descendent of Oliver's. He is my great-great-grandfather. His daughter Harriot married John Vance. They are my great grand parents. Their daughter Lura Light Vance married Frank omar Rowe they were my grandpraents. Their Daughter Wilma Frances Rowe married Joseph David Foxworty and they were my parents.

We took a detour through El Reno on our way to Texas in November 2010 to try and find the Methodist Church. Is it still there?

I have a small photo album that belonged to O P Light that he probably carried in the Civil War also some papers and a few other things.

Would love to hear from you and share some history that I know.

I asked Christina Wolf, archivist of the Methodist Archives for Oklahoma, at Oklahoma City University, to check for me, and this was her emailed reply, dated yesterday: "In the 1891 journal of the ME Indian Territory Mission, I did find a notation of O P Light in the statistics as finishing out the year at El Reno, which was left to be supplied during the 1890 annual conference. O P Light does not appear again and may have been a typo." In reply I assured her that he had a homestead near El Reno.
